2024 Arboristsite chainsaw

Hello all,I'm a new member & this is my first time posting. I just purchased a Stihl MS 261. It came with a 18" green bar and chain. I'm thinking about changing over to a 3/8" yellow bar ( rollmatic) and chain. My question is which type of chain would be best for my purpose and saw. I have a heatmor water stove that I'll be cutting firewood for.. Nn teen pics

When dealing with a reluctant saw it is wise to check for spark and fuel. Since I find it very difficult to check for spark while also trying to pull the cord, it crossed my mind to give the saw a snort of something, to help diagnose. Echo's press release for the 3410 says it has 1.7 horsepower. Echo's Non-US websites list the 3510 as having 2.02 horsepower (converting from Kw). I'm guessing maybe the bar is a tad wider (taller) than normal? Anyhow - on Bailey's it shows both 56 and 57 link chains for that model. It doesn't have the small oil hole seen on Sthil and the bigger 590 Echo bars but may not be needed. My measurements indicate it should work as but if not a slight modification should do it.Location. With that in mind the Dolmar 421 or others mentioned are hardly (~50$) more or some even less expensive but include typically a year warrenty!Based on some older posts (2003) another difference between the 365 and the 365 Special is the carburetor. For kicks or whatever the test group put the 15 to 1 mix in the engine that lost power on 50 to 1 and checked horsepower again and it came back up very significantly. Don't tighten too much, but you have a lot more grip on the seal.First the background on the two saws: The Husqvarna was brand new with no tanks through it. 20" factory bar with narrow kerf chain. Fuel used was Husqvarna ethanol free XP+ 50:1 mix. The Stihl had about 7 tanks of fuel through it. 18" factory bar with new Stihl .325/.063 standard chain. Hard to know for sure what you've got there without more info or a pic. But an 034 should have 3/8" chain. So as long as it's not square ground (not common) you'd need a 7/32" round file.
